Do you have anything that might be a full on longboard alternative?

Hi Todd,

Interested in a 9′ performance longboard for use in South Padre Island, Texas.

What do you have that would float, catch waves easily and still have high performance for a 190lb plus man.

Manuel

Hi Manuel,

Happy New Year!!
We do have a 9′0″ x 22 3/4″ x 3″ Performance Noserider coming through production that is due for completion at the end of the week….it is a clear polyester board ($805.00). There is also a 9′0″ x 22 5/8″ x 2 7/8″ Performance Noserider (Proxy construction/ stonger, lighter, slightly more buoyant – color is standard light gray fade) through production which will be done in about a week as well ($965.00).

Both of theses boards have excellent paddleability and trim speed from a lower entry rocker; as well they turn on a dime from a crisp, loose tail rocker.

For your build they have the ease of paddling, trim speed in small waves and maneuverability to make for an all around versatile performance longboard.
If you would like I could also make you a custom board. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. I know you would be stoked on a Proctor Performance Noserider as this is our current most popular performance longboard model….in all conditions small to large.
Looking forward to your reply,
Aloha,

Todd

Todd,

Thanks for you quick response.

Do you have anything that might be a full on longboard alternative?

I’m currently riding a 6′4″ x 21 x 2 7/8 thick thruster fish. What I found was that the waves have to be at least stomach and above for it to work. When it’s smaller than stomach I miss out on alot of waves.

Everyone says that a longboard is mandatory in Texas but I don’t longboard.

Should I take the plunge or do you have something that will catch ankle snappers but can still have performance?

I appreciate any suggestions.

Manuel

Hi Manuel,

I make a board called the Lil” Rascal that does just that…..

it generates incredible speed in the tiniest/ weakest waves,

yet has the maneuverability and responsiveness of a modern board.

We have one in stock that is 6′8″ x 22″ x 2 7/8″. We also have one coming through stock production that is 6′6″ x 21 3/4″ x 2 3/4″…..or we could do a custom….
There is also the option of doing a five fin set=up so you can ride it as a quad or thruster depending on the conditions i.e. thruster for more drive in slightly pushier small waves….and the quad for added speed and looseness in the really crumbly weak stuff. This would be your best alternative to going the longboard route.

The fuller volume and flat rocker allow this board ease in paddling, quick entry into waves, and speed to burn; while the hull contours give it exceptional maneuverability.

Check it out on proctorsurf.com I think this is what you’d be looking for. Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. Looking forward to your reply,
Aloha,

Todd
