for a 6' 2" and 185 lb. guy surfing Sunset Cliffs in San Diego what general dimensions of a board would you recommend?

Hi,

I am interested in getting a new surfboard before I move down to San Diego. I had two questions for you. First, I was wondering what the price of both a custom shortboard or an already made shortboard would be.

And second, for a 6′ 2″ and 185 lb. guy surfing Sunset Cliffs in San Diego what general dimensions of a board would you recommend?

Thank you,

Nick Marshall

Hi Nick,

Just got back from Bali….great waves….great weather!!

Anyway, the price for a stock or custom shortboards is the same. Polyester boards start at $585.00 and include fin system and fins. Our custom epoxy/ Proxy technology starts at $735.00 and includes fin system and fins. As for general dimensions for a board for you….that is a little more difficult since everyone is different in their style and approach. Let me know your height, weight, age, how long you’ve been surfing/ your experience and the dimensions of your last board(s)….this will give me the info I need to tell you the exact perfect design and dimensions for the magic board for you. Just for real general dimensions though, you would probably go with something around 6’4” – 6’6” x 18 7/8”-19” x 2 ½” Groveler IV.p.

This is the most versatile performance shortboard I make since it generates it’s own speed in small waves yet holds in and drives fast and loose in the pocket on the bigger, punchier days.

Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. I know you would be stoked on a magic Proctor. Looking forward to your reply,

Aloha,

Todd
