I have never really surfed, but expect to pick it up quickly…
Hi,
I am 6′ and wiegh 195. I have never really surfed, but expect to pick it up quickly. I have my sights set on the Rocket88 for I really like the design.
I’ve been reading up and think I just want a center fin. What size should I get?
Thanks,
Nathan Dehmler

Hi Nathan,
Rocket 88 is a great first board….and one you can hold on to even once you have conquered the initial learning curve….
truly a classic design. I recommend going 9’6″ x 23″ x 3 1/8″ with a single fin. This will afford you the volume appropriate for your height and weight, while the length of the board will allow for stability and ease in wave catching….you will find this to be very important when starting out.
The key is to get a lot of waves under your belt…that is how you learn quickest….and the way to do that is with a board that is not going to have any problem sliding right into ‘em.
Please feel free to ask any other questions you may have. I know you would be stoked on a magic Proctor Rocket 88.
Looking forward to your reply,
Aloha,
Todd
